Checking in at the Festival

The check-in will be at the reception of Camping de Lakens. This is the first building you’ll come across when entering the camping. Here you will receive a wristband after your tickets have been scanned. With this wristband you will be able to get access to the festival and if you have a weekend ticket including sleeping also to the campsite.

Campsite (Check-In):
Arriving and checking in at the campsite is possible between the following hours:
Thursday June 22 – 14:00 – 21:00
Friday June 23 – 14:00 – 22:00
Saturday June 24 – 09:00 – 22:00
Sunday June 25 – 09:00 – 21:00

Monday june 26 – the campsite will close at 10:00.
Make sure you’re packed up and heading home before that time!
This means that for the weekenders, you are allowed to sleep over from Sunday-Monday as well! Better tell your boss you’ll be late on Monday! 🙂


Parking in general
There is no parking at the festival site and no cars allowed on the camping this year. Parking options are around the neighbourhood

Zandvoort beach and Bloemendaal have many other options, but can be full due to a big dance event on the beach that weekend. Keep in mind that all parking will be crowded in this area when its beach weather.

Are The Clinics Included In the Price?

Some of the clinics and vibes are free, however most of them will cost you some festival-coins.

Can i rent a surfboard and/or wetsuit at the festival?

Yes, apart from the surf clinics where a surfboard is included Surfana Zandvoort will supply some surfboards (limited amount) for you at the festival, which you can rent for 2 Surfani per hour.

Wetsuits are also available in small amounts, rentable for 1 Surfani per hour. Best to bring your own if you have one!

Drugs Policy?

Surfana Festival is mainly about enjoying life in a natural and aware state. If you disagree with this vision, we kindly ask you to seek the party elsewhere.

Getting to the festival by public transport

We strongly advice everyone to get to Surfana Festival by public transport as parking spaces are expensive and besides; getting to the festival by public transport is easy & green!

To the festival
Take the train to either Haarlem CS or Zandvoort aan Zee and from there hop on the bus 81 for a short ride to the busstop: “De Lakens”.

From Zandvoort aan Zee use the Shuttleservice
Hop on the shuttleservice of Luminosity Festival (ticket €5,- cash only) , they will dropp you off right in front of Camping De Lakens at Surfana Festival.

Timetable shuttleservice to the festival:
Thur 22 June: between 14:00 and 17:00
Fri, Sat, Sun 23 -25 June: between 11:30 and 14:30

Shuttle stops at:
Zandvoort station, Centre Parks, Camping de Duinrand, Luminosity Festival at the Beach and last stop Camping De Lakens Surfana Festival.

Back home from the festival
Take bus 81 back to the station of your choice. There are no night busses. Last bus towards Haarlem runs on week days at 00.00 and in the weekend at 00.30.
Missed the bus? Take an Uber or taxi.

Is there access to clean tap water?

Yes, you can drink the tap water provided at the sanitary buildings from the camping.

Can I bring my own food/beverages

If you have a long weekend ticket and you will be staying on the campsite, you are allowed to bring your own food/drinks to consume at your tent or campervan.

Cooking at your tent is only allowed on small camping gas pits.
No open fire and no barbecues allowed!

On the festival grounds itself we’ll treat you with great food and plenty of drinks to choose from.

Can I charge my phone somewhere?

We don’t have any dedicated charging points at the festival grounds, however there are some power points on the campsite for a quick power-nap for your phone.

Can I walk in the dunes?

It is not allowed to enter the dunes by climbing/passing any of the fences. The dunes are fragile and part of a protected nature reserve, so please stay on the paths and respect this rule. If you want some privacy for a ‘nightly walk’ we can advise the beach!

Can I bring my dog or any other pets?

No, the camping has a strict policy which doesn’t allow dogs or other pets.

After hours

A nightly noise curfew will be in place on the campsite after 22:00. Take note: you will be on a family campsite, so please respect your fellow campers and keep noise to a minimum at night. If you still feel like singing and chatting, we advise you to go to the beach.

Can I take pictures of the festival?

Yes, with exception of professional photo/video equipment, you are allowed to take your own camera and/video camera to take some snapshots. Websites/businesses who want to take professional equipment need to ask permission before the festival starts.

At what time can I take a shower?

On the camping all toilet/shower blocks are open 24/7, so basically anytime you like, but please think about your neighbours and the house rules of the camping, no singing under the shower after 22:00!

Is there first aid available?

Yes, on the festival ground we have first aid.


Important ticket information!

We changed the ticket set-up compared to previous editions, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

Weekend tickets

Weekend + sleeping ticket (€110,-)
– Gives 1 person access to all days and nights of the festival + access to the campsite. This ticket excludes a spot for your tent, campervan or other fancy accommodation option.

Weekend + sleeping ticket Kids (€30,-)
– Gives 1 child up to 13 years old access to all days and nights of the festival + access to the campsite. If your kid sleeps in a separate tent, you will need another tent ticket.

Tent ticket (€30,-)
– Provides you with a tent label that gives you the right to set up a tent on the campsite. Each person staying in a tent needs to have a weekend + sleeping ticket. There is a maximum of 6 people that can stay in one tent. No army (alike) tents allowed.  Max 1 tent per weekend + sleeping ticket.

Campervan ticket (€40,-)
– Provides you with a campervan sticker that gives you the right to park your campervan on the campsite. Each person staying in a campervan needs to have a weekend + sleeping ticket. There is a maximum of 4 people that can stay in one campervan. No trailers allowed.

Passe partout (€85,-)

– Access to all days of the festival – without campsite/sleeping access. So basically daytickets for the whole weekend, with a discount. With a Passe partout you are only allowed to the festival terrain during opening hours.


Thursday evening ticket (€15,-)
– Access to one part of the festival on Thursday 22nd of June, from 19:00 until 22:00.
Friday ticket (€35,-)
– Access to the festival on Friday 23rd of June, from 09:00 until 00:00.
Saturday ticket (€40,-)
– Access to the festival on Saturday 24th of June, from 09:00 until 00:00.
Sunday ticket (€35,-)
– Access to the festival on Sunday 25th of June, from 09:00 until 00:00.

Each ticket comes with a €1 euro service charge. All tickets are tax inclusive.

We remain the right to refuse people that misbehave or don’t respect campsite or festival policies.

Car policy

Besides camper vans that have a valid camper van ticket, we will not allow cars on the campsite or festival ground. We advise you to come by public transport. There are parking options nearby the festival area and cost around €15 a day. We hope to make a deal soon and reduce costs, but can’t promise it will happen.

What is Surfana festival?

Surfana Festival is a unique 4-day festival in the middle of the dunes at Camping de Lakens in Bloemendaal aan Zee. During the festival you can participate in lots of clinics, listen to great live music, eat delicious food and share the good vibes with likeminded individuals from all around the world.

Minimum age?

The minimum age to gain access to the festival is 18 years.
Teenagers and kids under 18 are welcome if accompanied by an adult rightful parent or guardian. Friends/siblings above 18 do not count in this case and we will be checking ID’s at the check in/entrance.
So be aware: people under 18 that would like to come to the festival with friends that are above 18 will be refused.

About Surfana

Surfana is a surf and goodlife collective founded in the summer of 2007. The motivation of the collective is based on a desire to live a life based on love, passion and freedom. This goodlife ideology soon took flight which resulted in more members & several surf schools, camps and surf trips around the world. In 2013 it was time to celebrate and the first official Surfana Festival edition became a fact! More info about Surfana at

Can I bring my kids?

Sure! You can bring your little ones up to 3 years old for free. Kids up to 13 years old that stay the weekend need a kids weekend ticket (€30,-). Kids up to 13 that don’t overnight can join the festival for free (with a max of 2 per parent/guardian).

General Information

Together with Camping de Lakens we are facilitating beautiful and unique festival accommodation. If you’re in for a treat, book yourself a (carton) tent, honeycomb, trailer or shack! Shiny or brown, there’s something to suit everyone’s desire.

There is limited availability. First come, first serve!


Ever slept in a huge Shoebox??

The KarTent is kinda like a shoebox but definitely different. It’s a temporary festival tent made entirely out of cardboard which sleeps up to two people. The Kartent is made of high-quality kraftliner cardboard which is able to resist rain and keep you cool while the sun is shining. The Kartent is like a blank page waiting for your creativity. Unleash your creative mind and spice up Surfana festival by colouring your Kartent.

The tent will be set up for you on arrival. When the festival ends you can either bring your Kartent home and keep it as a cool Surfana festival souvenir or when you’re too hungover for souvenirs we’ll make sure your Kartent will be recycled. It will be turned into toilet paper, schoolbooks, shoe boxes or some other cool stuff. Long live recycling!

There are two different options for the kartent (tent tickets are included in the price):

  • Deluxe Kartent ( € 130,-) – incl. 2-person airbed & 2 sleeping bags

B & Bee Honeycomb Hotel

If you’re in for an unique sleeping experience during Surfana festival, book yourself a room in the award winning honeycomb-hotel. A lockable room for two persons with a 220V socket, usb charging points, light, heater and a fully made-up bed. And hey, you might bump into your bee queen:).

De Waard Tent

Do you love camping, but don’t want the hassle of pitching a tent?
Don’t worry, we hear you!

We offer a ready for use De Waard tent, which sleeps 2, 4 or 6 people. The tent is fitted with beds (incl. mattresses), an electric cool box and heater. There is a patio with a picnic table, chairs and even a hammock for the ultimate vacation feeling. The only thing you need to bring yourself is blankets, pillows and the remaining camping equipment, such as camping cooking gear.

We offer three different kinds of De Waard tents:

  • 2 person (€ 350,-)
  • 4 person (€ 430,-)
  • 6 person (€ 560,-)


The Retro Trailer is a knockout beauty! If you’re into the fifties, this trailer is definitely your pick. But don’t be fooled by it’s retro looks, once you’re inside you have all the luxury you could wish for during the festival. The trailer has a separate bedroom with double bed and the living area contains a couch which can easily be turned into a nice and comfy double bed. The good news is, you won’t be wandering around on the campsite in the darks of the night looking for a toilet. This beauty has it’s own toilet and washbasin!

  • You’re able to park your car next to your Retro Trailer. However, you’re not allowed to pitch a tent next to the trailer.

The Laidback Shack

It doesn’t come any better than this! The looks of the Laidback Shack will get you in the laidback modus within seconds. It will be your home away from home for the weekend and you’ll be coming back for more once Surfana festival ends:).

The Laidback Shack is a luxury beach house which two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, the other bedroom has a single bed and bunk bed. If the Laidback Shack is your home for the weekend, you are one of the happy few who has it’s own bathroom with toilet, washbasin and…shower with towels during the festival!
You don’t have to bring anything with you, except for some clean underwear and a big bag of love, peace and happiness.
